Young Voices at Sheffield Arena

6th February 2013

A group of De Warenne students went to Sheffield Arena to sing in the Young Voices Choir on 23rd January. The singers had rehearsed a variety of songs and the actions to go with them. They were lucky enough to be right on the front row and got their T-shirts signed by the stars of the show including internationally renowned musician Randolph Matthews. They also spoke to the creative director who commented how pleased he was to see secondary school students enjoying singing together so much. He agreed with the staff who ran the visit, Mrs Hunt and Miss Graves, that singing should continue to be fun as students get older. Two sixth formers, Tom Gardner and Emma Taylor supported and encouraged the younger students - and the staff too! The students are now looking forward to being involved in other performances in the future.
