  • ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME CLOSURE

    On Wednesday 19th July 2017, our current after school Enrichment Programme will close. We would like to thank all students and staff who have made this year's programme a success, and look forward to launching our new Enrichment Programme in the next academic year (2017-2018) which will be announced on this News feed and our Twitter feed.

    The summer term concludes on Thursday 20th July at 1PM.

    Students will have lunch and some time with their tutor, before being allowed to leave for the Summer holidays at 1PM.

    If there are any students who need to remain in school until 2.30PM, arrangements can be made. Please contact the academy to arrange this.

  • World Wildlife Fund UK

    17th July 2017 - Serlby Park Academy
     
    Congratulations to Maille in Year 4 who has received a runner up prize in a national story writing competition organised by the WWF.
     
    Over 1000 entries were received and we are delighted and proud that Maille's story about a lost tiger has been selected by the judges as one of the best in the country.
     
    Maille was presented with a Cuddly Tiger and a WWF Goody Bag. Well done Maille!
     
     
     


  • Reading Challenge Platinum Award

    We are delighted to celebrate the success of Daniel in Year 1 who has just completed the Serlby Park Academy Platinum Reading Challenge Award by reading an extra twenty books.
     
    This is in addition to the eighteen books Daniel read to claim our coveted Gold Award.
    Congratulations and well done to Daniel.

  • Primary Sports Day

    17th July 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

     

    Congratulations to all the pupils who took part in our fantastic sports day events last week which were held on the primary sports field.

     

    The combined results for all the events are as follows: 

    First place was Rufford House with 202 points

    Second Place was Clumber House with 187 points

    Third place was Welbeck House with 177 points

    Fourth place was Thoresby House with 173 points

  • Sports Day

    17th July 2017 - Kingston Park Academy

    We hope the parents enjoyed our sports day as much as the pupil and staff did. The children took part in lots of events including the water race, sack race, space hoppers and lots more.

    The green team were the winners this year but we would like to congratulation all the children who took part and made it a fantastic day.

     

     

  • NEW UNIFORM FOR SEP 2017

    17th July 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    With effect from September 2017, the uniform supplier for all Delta Academies will be SPT Uniforms.

    As previously updated on our website, from September 2017 our incoming Year 7 students will receive a complimentary uniform bundle. Measurements for their uniform were taken on their transition day (Friday 30th June) and the bundles will be available for collection at a date to be confirmed within the school holidays.

    There is no expectation for existing students to purchase this uniform, however any new items

  • School of Rock success

    17th July 2017 - De Warenne Academy

    On Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th July De Warenne Academy rocked to the sound of the School of Rock. Students have spent 7 months rehearsing for the show which is provided by Andrew Lloyd Webbers Really useful group free of charge for schools. Our significant investment in the students and the technology made the show the biggest De Warenne has performed over the last 5 years.     All year groups will have assemblies on a rolling basis on Tuesday 18th July 2017, hosting guest speakers from the British Transport Police. The schedule is as follows:

    P1 - Year 7

    P2 - Year 8

    P3 - Year 9

    P4 - Year 10

     

  • Picnic in the Playground

    16th July 2017 - Kingston Park Academy

    To mark the end of the Summer term bring along your picnics,  blankets, and plenty of cake to join us for a  picnic in the playground.

    There will be sports activities, dancing, face painting, a magician, an ice cream van and much more. Due to safeguarding, when you arrive for the picnic please come to the main reception door where you will be directed to collect your child from their classroom.

    Should you wish your child to leave school with another parent, please contact the school to give your permission.

    We are happy to support Sal’s Shoes –

    If you have any children’s footwear that are no longer needed, eg. sandals, slippers, trainers, boots, dance shoes, football boots please help this charity by donating them.  Larger sizes are acceptable but all footwear must be child appropriate (no heels).   • SCHOOL BUS CHANGES

    We have been informed that the school bus operator – Bright Bus - is intending to close at the end of this academic year (July 2017).

    Bright Bus currently provide commercial school services across South Yorkshire, with approximately 11,000 journeys each day.  Bright Bus have been a key player in the market since the late 1980s and have done a lot of work to build relationships with schools and parents, to encourage safe and direct travel for young people.   • BASKETBALL STAR

    14th July 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    On the 1st and 2nd July 2017 one of our Year 8 students, Harvey Smith, represented Yorkshire at the Basketball England's under 13 boys regional development tournament in Manchester. This was supported by grant funding from the academy.

     

  • Y10 TEENAGE CANCER TRUST ASSEMBLY

    14th July 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    This morning our Year 10 students took part in a workshop and received a presentation from Lenny (R. Lennon) from the Teenage Cancer Trust. After an initial introduction and supportive message about this sensitive issue, Lenny went on to inform the students about statistics, myths and facts surrounding cancer and especially cancer in young people.

  • Code Breaking STEM Day

    14th July 2017 - The Elland Academy

    Previous STEM days have included bridge building, programming competitions and a CSI theme day. On Friday the Maths department planned a Code-Breaking day. Students embraced the opportunity to practise Semaphore, learn about Braille, Makaton and other communication methods to reveal secret codes. Finally students were ableto crack the codes which unlocked a box of surprises!
