  • Summer Fair Success

    7th July 2017 - Grange Lane Infant Academy Wow!! What an amazing time we all had at the Summer Fair. Everybody had so much fun and we managed to raise around £750 to go towards school funds. A massive thank you to all our parents for bringing their children and also for donating prizes. Well done everyone!   • Help us raise money for Brad's new wheelchair

    7th July 2017 - De Lacy Academy

    Bradley started playing wheelchair basketball 2 years ago. In this time he's represented Wakefield Whirlwinds, playing for the U15's squad and has been picked to play for Yorkshire in a national competition held in Worcester in August.

    Bradley's dream is to be a Paralympian and play wheelchair basketball for his country.

    For Bradley to fulfill his dream he needs a specially made wheelchair.

  • Year 3 & 4 Sports Day

    7th July 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

     

    The children in year 3 and 4 had a fabulous afternoon showing off their sports skills to family and friends.

    Well done to all the children for participating with such enthusiasm and commitment.

    Congratulations to Team Rufford who came first and are pictured holding the George Parrish cup.

    The points from all sports day events will be totalled and the overall winners will be presented with the Rob Needham cup next week.

     



  • Year 1 & 2 Sports Day

    7th July 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    Year 1 and 2 had an amazing morning with their family and friends watching them race and have fun on their sports day.

    The children loved joining in and really enjoyed themselves.

    Congratulations to Team Clumber who came first and are pictured holding the George Parrish cup.

    The points from all sports day events will be totalled and the overall winners will be presented with the Rob Needham cup next week.

     

  • Year 9 Sports Leaders

    7th July 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

     

    Throughout the school year 5 dedicated pupils in year 9 have contributed over 40 hours of their own time to training and delivering sports sessions to our primary pupils. Along the way they have achieved their silver Sports Leadership award and their Cricket Activator certificate. They have delivered sports sessions on a weekly basis to primary pupils in years 4,5 and 6. They are extremely enthusiastic and motivated pupils and have done an amazing job this year!

    Well done!

    6th July 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    During Period 3 on Friday 7th July 2017, Year 7 assembled in the Auditorium for a presentation given by guest speakers from South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue.

    The presentation was delivered by Community Fire Safety Officers Andy Hall and Charlie Fox, beginning with an introduction to the scenario and questions about student attendance at Crucial Crew workshops. The focus of the presentation was on Arson and Hoax Calls, which students had covered briefly at Crucial Crew, but were eager to share the knowledge abou

    All year groups will be having an assembly in the Auditorium on Friday 7th July 2017. The schedule will be as follows:

    08:25 am - Year 10 will be collected from the academy gates for a prompt 08:25 am start.

    08:55 am - Year 7 students will be escorted by their Period 1 teachers to the Auditorium for a prompt 08:55 am start.

    09:30 am - Year 8 students will be escorted by their Period 2 teachers to the Auditorium for a prompt 09:30 am start.

  • Open Day - Wednesday 5th July 2017

    6th July 2017 - The Elland Academy

    On Wednesday afternoon the Academy opened it's doors to Schools around the area who were interested in referring students in the future. Previous open days have been very successful and this was no different. Staff did us proud showing off what we do every day to meet every individuals needs. The most memorable moment was when 2 of our previous students spoke with such passion about their time with us.

    We are delighted to celebrate the success of Lucy in Year 1 who has just completed the Serlby Park Academy Platinum Reading Challenge Award by reading an extra twenty books.

    This is in addition to the eighteen books Lucy read to claim our coveted Gold Award.

    All Serlby Park uniform is now to be ordered with SPT Uniforms through the new link which is listed under the useful links tab.

    Parents will need to register in order to purchase uniform and use the click & collect option then uniform will be delivered free of charge to the Academy.

  • Sheffield Institute of Sport

    6th July 2017 - Pheasant Bank Academy

    On Friday 30 June, our children had a fantastic day at the Active Fusion Festival of Sport, held at the Institute of Sport in Sheffield.  The children got a chance to take part in a range of different sports, as well as receiving full marks for their determination, team work and attitude in every activity. The effort, enthusiasm and sportsmanship shown was infectious and was commented on by lots of people throughout the day.

     

  • Our Seaside Day At The Little Grangers

    6th July 2017 - Grange Lane Infant Academy What a fun day we had! We made pictures of sea creatures with sand and glitter, danced beside the seaside with cre8ive dance academy. We also had some yummy hotdogs and scrummy ice-cream. Even the sun managed to get out a little.
  • Low Sugar Day

    6th July 2017 - Whetley Academy

    All pupils have enjoyed learning about how important it is to reduce the amount of sugar we eat each day.   This morning healthy snacks were sold in the playground and the children also enjoyed a Low Sugar lunch.

    6th July 2017 - Grange Lane Infant Academy After their recent visit to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, the year 1 children were challenged to make an animal enclosure with their adults. What a fantastic job they did!
  • KS3 Enrichment - Swinton Lock

    6th July 2017 - St Wilfrid's Academy

    As part of the Oceans 17 theme, we visited Swinton Lock Activities Centre. Students took part in a number of activities including a boat trip, where they could steer the boat along parts of the canal from Swinton to Mexbrough. They also went on a bug hunt, pond dipping and fishing in the canal and caught a number of fish. Mr Wilson said he caught a fish so big it took three to lift it, I think he was telling tales, but Dylan Clark did catch 7 fish (or was it the same fish 7 times?) It was a great day enjoye
